Detecting shared physiological arousal events in collaborative problem solving

چکیده
Collaborative problem solving (CPS) is a cyclical process in which team members go back and forth between various cognitive affective phases as they interact with the state each other. An increasing amount of research has been conducted to explore how sequential relationships CPS affect performance outcomes. However, detecting mainly relies on labor-intensive methods, such video coding all interactions during problem-solving process. Furthermore, it challenging understand level sharedness or togetherness among when through specific phase. Consequently, this study aimed investigate shared physiological arousal events (SPAE) CPS. We developed implemented new method for SPAEs by utilizing skin conductance response data. Our findings showed that SPAE can be promising socio-emotional are demonstrated members. Process-mining analysis revealed different pathways successful less teams both terms variables address SPAEs. The current contributes timely agenda collaborative learning fields developing multimodal methods unearth complex interaction processes collaboration.

Collaborative Problem Solving in Shared Space
The purpose of this study was to examine collaborative problem solving in a shared virtual space. The main question asked was: How will the performance and processes differ between collaborative problem solvers and independent problem solvers over time? A total of 104 university students (63 female and 41 male) participated in an experimental study. Participants were randomly assigned to four d...

We designed a five-week family program where seven parent-child dyads ages 9 to 12 played Quest Atlantis, a multi-user 3D educational computer-game used in middle schools internationally as part of the school curriculum, in an informal setting. Our goal was to understand the challenges, opportunities, and collaborative work that result when both parent and child are immersed within a shared col...
متن کاملAssessing Collaborative Problem Solving
Collaborative Problem Solving (CoPS) comprises the combined competence of complex problem solving and communication skills as in CoPS situations a shared problem understanding has to be established and knowledge, skills and efforts of the individual team members have to be aligned to reach the common goal (c.f. Care & Griffin, in prep., p. 6; OECD, 2013, p.6). Although CoPS skills are of intere...

Collaborative problem solving (ColPS) proficiency was developed as a new assessment for the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) in the 2015 international evaluation of student skills and knowledge. The assessment framework defined by the PISA ColPS 2015 expert group crossed three major collaboration processes with four problem solving processes that were adopted from the PISA ...
